WHAT MAKE-UP BRANDS ARE USED?

We don’t use or endorse any one specific brand and only use products that you would find in one of our make-up artist’s kits (i.e. those which have been road-tested thoroughly and have proven their worth over the years). We have everything from L'oreal to Lancome, MAC to Rimmel, Max Factor to Bobbi Brown, Clarins to Clinique and believe it’s not about what products you use, or how much they cost, as much as how you apply them. We also have a selection of mineral make-up for those with sensitive skin and camouflage make-up for those with specific skin concerns. A lot of clients comment that they love the opportunity to try out new make-up products in a non sales environment, without feeling under pressure to purchase them. We do provide a list of all the make-up used in the class should you wish to purchase them on your own accord after the class in a department store or pharmacy. In the hair workshops we use L’Oreal, Kerastase and John Fredia styling products and Remington styling tools.

HOW LONG IS THE CLASS ON FOR?
The full day classes begin at 10.00am and finish circa 5.00pm - occasionally the class goes over by 15-30 minutes. We break for lunch between 1-2pm. There are lots of coffee shops and bars in the area, we recommend Matt The Threshers for their great lunch menu and fresh seafood; www.mattthethresher.ie. Chez Max; for nice French fare, wines and a lovely sunny outdoor terrace; www.chezmax.ie. And Et voila for gorgeous soups, cakes and coffees.

HOW DO I GET THERE/ DO YOU HAVE PARKING?
There currently is free Saturday and Sunday parking right outside our door on Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2. Please see CONTACT page for a map or look us up on Google Maps by following this link - http://miniurl.com/116164. Transport-wise our studios are a five minute walk from St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2, so we are accessible from all the major city centre DART, train, bus and LUAS routes and stations.

DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?
No, all the hair and make-up equipment and products are supplied in our studios. The only thing we ask you to bring is a mascara for hygiene purposes. If however, you would like to bring along your personal styling tools or make-up bag to use in the class, or to check with our instructors if are they appropriate for you skin-type/hair-type or colouring, you are of course more than welcome to do so.

CAN I WEAR MAKE-UP TO THE CLASS?
Of course you can. However you will be cleansing it straight off and starting again form scratch, but it’s up to each client whether they can leave the house bare faced in the morning or not!

DO I NEED TO HAVE MY HAIR WASHED?
Yes ideally the evening before or morning of the class as it's easier to style clean hair, we do not have hair washing facilities.

WHAT AGE RANGE IS THE CLASS FOR?
The minimum age we would recommend for attending the class if 15, and anyone under 18 attending must have parental or guardian consent and have a signed disclaimer stating so. The ‘All Ages’ class is suitable for all ages, while the ‘Forever 40’s’ class is more tailored towards women over 40’s. Notwithstanding that, there is no reason a 50 year old and an 18 year old cannot attend the same class (mother and daughter for instance), as we tailor the class to meet each individual client’s needs accordingly each week.

CAN I COME ALONE - OR DO I NEED TO BRING A FRIEND?
Of course, lots of our clients attend the course on their own, and lots attend with friends or family, so whatever suit you best.

IS IT SUITABLE FOR PEOPLE WITH SHORT HAIR?
Yes if you would like to learn blow-drying skills and the styling skills we teach extend to women with short hair too and there is also a section covering adding temporary extensions - you’ll be amazed at what you can do. Saying that, if you have very short, tight hair and plan to keep indefinitely you may not benefit from this section and we would advise joining us on one of the ‘Make-up Only’ days which we run instead - see the schedule under the Book page.

DO YOU GIVE GROUP DISCOUNTS?
Yes, please see the Groups Page and/or get in contact for special rates.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELLATION POLICY?
Yes we require a minimum of 7 -days cancellation notice on all bookings. The same holds for bookings made with pre-paid gift vouchers also. Cancellations must be made via e-mail. A more comprehensive cancellation procedure will be issued to clients when bookings are made.

CAN I JUST PARTAKE IN ONE SECTION OF THE CLASS - HAIR OR MAKE-UP?
Only on the days when we have a ‘Make-up Only’ classes running, otherwise the course comprises of two workshops and a booking encompasses both classes not one or the other. For large groups and parties requiring to do just one element of the course please get in touch with our group advisor via the contact page.

DO YOU PROVIDE LUNCH?
No, as experience has thought us that it's much better for clients to go out and have some fresh air and a little break before afternoon sessions. Unless in a group or party situation where an additional lunch package is requested. In such cases we can order in platters of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, sushi and cakes for prices ranging between €5- €10 per person depending on the order.

WHAT ABOUT COSMETIC ALLERGIES?
Please let us know of any known cosmetic allergic reactions and/or sensitivity triggers both before the course and on the morning of the course please advise our tutors also, so they can suggest non-irritating options.

WILL I BE GETTING A MAKE-OVER?
No. You will be learning new styling and make-up skills and techniques from our tutors but you will be attempting the majority of the make-up steps and hair styling techniques yourself because if you don’t attempt it on your own at first, it will be much harder to repeat it at home without the security of a tutor at your side. Our tutors will help you throughout the day and ensure you look polished and groomed before leaving each class.

DO YOU PROVIDE REFRESHMENTS?
Yes we provide coffee, tea, water and a glass of well earned bubbly at the end of the day for each client too. In large group or party situations, additional drinks can be provided. Please discuss this when submitting your groups’ request and requirements.
