Liz's Story

Why I set up Beauty Bootcamp?

Liz Dwyer

Inspired by transformation of rather plain looking models into gorgeous vixens through my work over the past decade as a Beauty Editor, I felt if every woman could gain an insight into the make-up and hair tricks and techniques I see being used backstage, we'd all be on a lot more equal footing when it comes to looking gorgeous. So I rounded up some of the best hair and make-up people in the business and together we created Beauty Bootcamp.

I’m currently Beauty Editor at IMAGE magazine (an award winning editor at that), and previously worked for VIP, The Irish Times, The Examiner, The Evening Herald, The Sunday World, TV Now, Kiss and Irish Weddings and New Homes.

I’ve been knee deep in moisturiser and make-up for over a decade and as a result have an encyclopedic knowledge of every cosmetic out there, so I have selected my favourite hero products for you to use in Beauty Bootcamp. I’m also a regular contributor to Xpose, Off The Rails, 4 Live, and SPIN 103.8. I also confess to being a Facebook addict and Twitter fiend – so be sure to follow us.

Celebrity Stylists

Leonard Daly

Leonard Daly is  Ireland’s most in-demand make up artist, with an impressive celebrity client list and a body of magazine, catwalk and TV work spanning the last decade. Forever at the frontline of fashion and style trends, Leonard’s is constantly working with leading national and international fashion media including Elle, Glamour and Image. His easy manner and practical hands on approach to make up, mean Leonard is a regular contributor to lifestyle programmes on RTE and TV3. Leonard thrives on teaching his skills to women and empowering them to look their best for every occasion from coffee to cocktails.

Naomh Geddy

Naomh Geddy is on the speed-dial of women the world-over, from LA to Ireland, simply put, she’s a whizz at making women look amazing. Her natural flair for make-up and affinity with clients, is why major cosmetics houses like Maybelline and Max Factor have Noamh working on their campaigns and why shows like The X-Factor jet her in to glam up their presenters. When not wielding her brushes on editorial shoots or backstage at fashion shows, Noamh believes that every woman should have access to the same insider secrets and techniques as the models and celebrities she works with, so loves sharing her love for make-up with real women. “I’m a busy working mum want to feel beautiful, powerful and sexy every day, yet feel like anything but most mornings. Make-up is a great way to achieve this and I love teaching women at Beauty Bootcamp how to get their game face on for any occasion be it coffee to cocktails,” says Naomh.

Leonora Ribero

Leonora Ribero is a multi award-winning hair stylist and one of the Irish hair industries foremost trend setters. Her talent for creating effortless, elegant hair has captured the attention of editors, stylists and celebrities for over a decade. Having cut her teeth as a trainee in Peter Mark, she progressed to head-stylist in the hip Dublin hairdressing mecca, Foundation Hair. During this time she honed her creative skills both in and out of the salon on magazine shoots, film sets and at fashion shows, which cumulated in her securing a spot on the elite international Sebastian Pro team, with whom she travelled the world teaching upcoming stylists the latest techniques. Having just had her second child, she is now a freelance stylist concentrating on special occasion hair and is also now one of our pro tutors at Beauty Bootcamp. Her extensive experience in editorial work is particularly useful to brides as she knows exactly what hair styles compliment a certain dress or headpiece style, as well as what hair so will best flatter a face shape and what looks great in photos. She also has a knack of ensuring your hair looks just as gorgeous after the DJ’s set has finished as it did when you put on your dress.
